DAY 4: How Motivation Actually Works

Why motivation shows up after you start, not before

What’s up everyone,

Today I want to clear up one of the biggest lies in fitness:

“I just need motivation.”

No… you don’t.

Motivation isn’t something you wait for.
Motivation is something you create by taking action — even small action.

Every time you move your body, every time you show up, every time you choose the better option… your brain gets a signal:

“Oh, we’re doing this.”

And that’s when motivation shows up.

Not before.

Why this matters for your journey

If you keep waiting to feel ready, you’ll keep restarting.
If you act first — even when you don’t want to — you build momentum.

And momentum is way more powerful than motivation.

Here’s the formula nobody talks about:

Action → Momentum → Motivation

Not the other way around.

You take action first.
You build momentum through repetition.
Then motivation shows up because your brain starts believing you can do this.
