Motivation comes and goes. Some days you feel great and have all the energy in the world. Other days, you just don’t feel like doing anything.
That’s normal. I still have those days, too.
You won't always feel like it
After years of training and boxing, I’ve learned that you can’t rely on motivation alone. You have to learn to show up even when you don’t feel like it.
You won't always have your best workout, but you’ll rarely regret getting it done.
Make it easier on yourself
If I’m training in the morning, I try to get my clothes ready the night before. Having groceries at home makes eating better easier, too.
Small things like these help you stay consistent without relying on willpower every day.
You don't have to give 100%
Boxing has taught me that even when you're tired, you can keep moving and do your best with what you have left.
Fitness is the same. If you planned to train for an hour but only have 20 minutes, do 20 minutes. If your eating hasn't been great, make your next meal a better one.
You don't need to be perfect. You just need to keep showing up.
Try this this week
Plan your workouts ahead of time.
Do one thing you’ve been putting off.
On difficult days, do what you can instead of giving up completely.
You can't control how motivated you feel every day, but you can work on how you respond to it.
Build a routine you can stick to, even on the days you don't feel like it. That's how fitness becomes a lifestyle.
